The Project

+359 Bulgarian garden reached its successful finale. The British media, as well as the visitors, expressed great interest in the first participation of Bulgaria at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. After the end of the show parts of the composition were scattered throughout London, where they will bear the spirit of Bulgaria. Pots with typical Bulgarian flowers found their new homes in the City Hall, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Energy and Climate Change and other institutions in London. Two Bulgarian schools in the British capital – “Rozova Dolina” and “Vasil Levski” – were also decorated with around 150 pots with flowers.

+359 Bulgarian garden happened thanks to Hristo Yordanov and FRIENDS: National Endowment Fund “13 Centuries of Bulgaria”, “Bulgaria Air”, Foundation “For the People”, PR agency “Intelday Solutions”, National Donations Forum, “Studio X”, the Bulgarian community in London. Support for the popularization of the project was provided by the prominent Bulgarian actors Ana Papadopulu, Anya Pencheva, Teodora Duhovnikova and Mihail Petrov, the politician Martin Zaimov, the diplomat Ivan Stanchoff and the journalist Georgi Toshev. The funds for the realization of the campaign were collected by Timac Agro Bulgaria, Mall Varna, British-Bulgarian Friendship Society, Agrotime Ltd., Kings College Students, Dobromir Chernev, Eugenia Fiykova, Nikolai Fiykov, Didi Gigova, Emilia Gigova, Nasya Hadzhieva, Boris Petrov, Veronika Dimitrova, Chavdar Angelov, Petya Dikova, Diana Ivanova, Sylvia Traykova, Vadim Parkhomenko, Veska Georgieva, Margarita Vassileva, Gabriela Penkova, Mariana Cholakova, Mariana Krapusheva, Nicolas Gramatikov, Desislava Nikolova, Heba M Ltd., Milen Miloshev, Adelina Milosheva, Albena Krusheva, Galina Stoyanova Pavlova, Magdalena Avgarska, Rumi Tsancheva and Denitsa Sacheva.

The donation campaign continues until the amount of BGN 10 000 is collected. The sum is needed for the production of the movie “Dreamers”, which tells the story of +359 Bulgarian garden from its beginning until the successful finale. Currently money could be donated only through the bank account of the project; the donation SMS service is closed.

How to become a donor

How much should I give?
The smallest amount of money you can donate is BGN 1.20 (with VAT) via SMS with text DMS359, sent to number 17 777. If you wish to donate a larger sum, why don’t you sent us BGN 120. Why exactly 120, you would ask. Because this is the exact value of every one of the 359 ceramic pots in the garden. Donating this sum, you will become an indirect creator of the pot and it will carry your name. Thus, we strive to establish a peculiar social network of donors, who supported the campaign and contributed to the creation of something beautiful. However, if the idea really appeals to you and you wish to donate more for its realization, you can donate as much as you want, according to your financial opportunities. Hristo Yordanov – Project Manager
Hristo Yordanov is a fourth generation gardener. He has graduated “Film Directing” and “Management”. He is a specialist with a long-standing experience in the field of landscaping of municipal and private estates. Hristo has fulfilled multiple projects in Bulgaria, the UK and France. In 2005 he established “Your gardener”, a company for gardening and landscaping. He organized the first ever gardening team building in Bulgaria, with the cooperation of Sofia Municipality and “Outward Bound” company. Together with “Ossem” magazine and Sofia Municipaloty Hristo launched the initiative “Let’s save the chestnuts”. The idea of the initiative is to save the Bulgarian chestnuts from a specific type of moth that destroys the trees’ leaves.

Nikola Toromanov – Scene/ stage designer
Nikola Toromanov (Ficho) was born on December 5, 1968 in Sofia. He graduated “Scenofgraphy” at the National Academy of Arts. Nikola debuted in 1994 with the scenography of the play “Vuicho Vanio” by Chekhov. He has worked at the Drama Theater in Dimitrovgrad (1996 – 1997), the “Bulgarian Army” Theater (1997 – 1999). Since 2000 he has been working as a free-lance scene designer. He is a co-founder and a member of the Triumviratus art group. He has won numerous awards for his work as a scene designer – Askeer for best scenography in 2005, Askeer for best costumes in 2004, Annual awards for scenography by the Union of Bulgarian Artists, etc.

Ivon Stoyanova – artist
Ivon was born in 1955 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She has graduated the Academy of Arts in Sofia, specializing in ceramics in the class of Professor Venko Kolev. She has participated in more than 50 exhibitions in Bulgaria, as well as many international exhibitions and competitions in Italy, France, Germany, Cyprus, Kuweit, the Czech Republic, etc. She won five Bulgarian awards for ceramics – in 1985, 1987, 1989, 1994 and 1996.

Andrei Filipov – translator
Andrei Filipov is born in Sofia. He graduated English Studies at the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” with а master thesis about the works of Harold Pinter. He has worked as a playwright at the Metropolitan repertory theater in New York – Albany. Since 2000 he has been a playwright at the National Theater “Ivan Vazov”. He authored the plays “Midnight city” (1999), “The missing story” (2001), etc.; and the poetry books “Surprise” (1991) and “The Green room in me” (1997). He translates from and to English. His plays have been translated and published in English, Russian, Polish, Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish. He has won multiple awards, among which the “Liberty partnership” and the “Theater Concept”.

Albena Panevska – administrator
Albena Panevska is born on August 29, 1953 in Dobrich, Bulgaria. She has graduated History and Bulgarian Philology in the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski”. She has specialization in German language from the Institute for foreign students and specialization from the Center for Eastern languages and cultures to the Sofia University. Albena has a long-standing experience as a museum expert. She is the executive director of Foundation “For the people” since 2004.

Denitsa Sacheva – PR expert
Denista is born on November 2, 1973 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her working experience includes more than 15 international projects, financed by the European Commission, the World Bank, the USAID, UNICEF and UNDP. She teaches practical PR classes in New Bulgarian University in Sofia and lectures “Public Communications in Healthcare” in London’s School of PR in Sofia. She was a member of the Council of IPRA for two mandates ( 2005 – 2006 and 2007 – 2008). Moreover, she has a full membership at the European Association of Communications Directors. Denitsa is the founder and executive director of the PR agency “Intelday Solutions” since 2001.

Tsvetelina Gocheva – Junior PR expert
Tsvetelina is born on December 30, 1987 in Bourgas, Bulgaria. She graduated the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” in 2010 with a BA in Public relations. Her work as a PR specialist started in November 2008 in the PR agency “Bold Communication”, where she worked for a year and a half. Since March 2010 she is a member of the team of PR agency “Intelday Solutions”.

Ангелина Пашмаркова – координатор на проекта завършва Българската музикална академия със специалност Пиано. Следдипломната и квалификация е от Музикалната консерваторията в Санкт Петербург, Русия. Носител е на множество награди от международни състезания в Гурция и Италия. Понастоящем Ангелина е пианист на свободна практика и Бетовен.към Greater Detroit Arena. Свирила е с музиканти от Детройтския симфоничен оркестър и Мичиганския оперетен театър. По време на кариерата си на сцената в Детройт, Ангелина е била солист в редица концерти за пиано от Брамс, Рахманинов, Чейковски
